Terms of Service
The plain-language agreement for using SpecDrive and its connection to AI coding agents. Built and shipped by one indie developer — no fine print games.

01Acceptance of terms
By using SpecDrive — the app, its website, or its MCP connection to AI coding agents — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. These terms are between you and Rodrigo Andrade, the solo developer of SpecDrive, based in Dublin, Ireland.
02What the service does
SpecDrive is a notebook app for Spec Driven Development: you write a structured spec, and an AI agent writes the code. To make that hand-off work, SpecDrive can read your spec files from GitHub and share them with AI coding agents (such as Claude) over an MCP connection. This access is read-only — SpecDrive never writes to, modifies, or deletes anything in your repositories.
03Your responsibilities
You are responsible for your own GitHub account and the repositories you connect. You confirm that you have the right to grant access to those repos, and that you'll keep your account credentials secure. You're also responsible for how you use any code an AI agent produces from your specs — review it before you ship it.
04What the MCP connection reads
The MCP connection only reads your .specify/ files and CLAUDE.md from the repositories you authorise. It never accesses your source code, assets, secrets, or your GitHub token beyond what is needed to read those spec files. All AI processing in the SpecDrive app runs on your device via Apple Intelligence. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
05No warranty
SpecDrive is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. I do my best to keep it working and useful, but I can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated output will be correct or fit for any particular purpose.
06Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rodrigo Andrade will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or code, arising out of your use of SpecDrive or the AI output produced from your specs. The service depends on third parties (GitHub, Apple, and your chosen AI agent) whose availability and behaviour are outside my control.
07Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time — for example, as the app gains new features. When I do, I'll update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use SpecDrive after a change means you accept the revised terms.
